Pakistan: India cannot get representation in OIC
ISLAMABAD: India cannot get representation in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in any form, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammad Faisal said on Thursday. He was responding to a call by member state Bangladesh for reform of the OIC to pave the way for countries such as India to get observer status.Faisal said India is an “aggressor state” responsible for massive human rights violations against Kashmiri Muslims over the last 70 years. There are numerous OIC resolutions condemning Indian atrocities in Indian-administered Kashmir, he added. “So how can a country that is already violating OIC resolutions become part of the organization?” Faisal asked, adding that India’s inclusion as an observer state has never been on the OIC’s agenda. “Any statement by Bangladesh’s foreign minister was given in an individual capacity, and doesn’t reflect the principled stand of the OIC,” Faisal said.
